There are various areas in New Mexico to experience a great hike. One of these locations is the White Sands National Park. The White Sands National Park is located in the northern part of the biggest desert in North America. The park possesses a 4.9-mile Alkali Flat Trail that meanders through the sand and the 0.3-mile mile Interdune Boardwalk, allowing room for hikers to choose between an easy walk and a moderately challenging hike.
Another great location to hike in New Mexico is the Santa Fe National Forest. The forest is about 1.5 million acres wide, and it has a variety of trail options, including the Jemez Falls trail and the McCauley Hot Springs Trail. The Jemez Trail is about 0.7 miles long, and it is one of the most popular trails in the national forest. The McCauley Hot Springs Trail, on the other hand, is more challenging. It is 3.4-miles long, and hikers will experience an 810-feet elevation.
