Former California resident Drita Bronkey is now based in Farmington, New Mexico, serving at Zemer Property Management Consultants (ZPMC), overseeing the management of client mobile home parks in the state. The holder of a bachelor of arts in speech communication, Drita Bronkey likes spin cycling during her free time.
Spin cycling, also known as indoor cycling, is a cardiovascular exercise that mimics road cycling. It features a stationary bike called a “spin bike.” Notably, “spinning” is a trademarked name, though most people use it to refer to spin cycling. While most fitness centers and gyms offer spin cycling classes to groups, others may prefer solo workouts.
Though you can use regular gym shoes, cycling shoes are ideal, since they clip to the pedals. Additionally, a “breathable,” sweat-absorbing outfit is recommended.
Spin cycle bikes are adjustable based on a person’s height and length of their arms, legs, and torso. It’s OK to take breaks, since spin-cycling it is a tiring activity, though you can reduce the bike’s resistance to lower your heart rate, allowing for longer spin sessions. The goal, however, is to get used to the bike and increase your resistance with time.
